Strip Mall, San Gabriel

Taken with my camera phone using the Pudding Camera app. Such a nifty app to play with.  This particular filter was called Noir.

Tutu-Wearing Hippo

I miss my hippo cup.
Once I find a bathroom to unpack, it shall join me once again.

Please Give Me Food?

I was eating my breakfast burrito and when I looked down Mojo had that pleading look in his eyes. Luckily I’m not a sucker for puppy dog eyes so I continue to scarf down my burrito (though I felt a bit guilty). Throughout each bite he stared up at me just hoping that I would drop a morsel on that peeling orange concrete floor. He was so adorable that I had to take out the camera phone and snap a photo.

Sky Blue

this photo taken with my Droid camera phone

I am quite pleased with the resolution. Though there were a bit of weird color pixels speckled in the robin blue sky, overall the results were impressive.   I've been taking photos with my camera phone here and there and daytime photos obviously are much smoother in color than night time photos.

In fact, forget dimly litted situations - the digital noise is just terrible. Even with the blue cast of the LED light (which btw you can't even control the output) I generally dislike the photographs it produces.

The camera phone is limited. Though it does now offer a macro and infinity mode ever since it's froyo update. I won't bore you with the details but it's pretty nifty that I can take up close shots of random objects now with my camera phone. wheeee~

Camera Phone Photography

I have decided to give camera phone photography a try.

I only used the camera on my Droid here and there for documentation purposes but never really considered using it for artistic means.  A good friend of mine, Clara takes eye catching photos with her iPhone (mostly food) which she uploads on a daily basis via her Facebook gallery. I was once again reminded how cool iPhone cameras images can come out to be when I stumbled upon H3NR7's blog (beautiful photos right?) and was further convinced when I saw that Chase Jarvis took astounding photos with his iPhone. Who would have thought a camera phone can capture that?  The app they both used (Clara and H3NR7 - not sure if Jarvis uses it) is called Hipstamatic but unfortunately it is not available for the Android market.

I did a bit of research and decided to give these following apps a try:

FxCamera
Camera Illusion
Photo Illusion
PicSay
Vignette

This will be an interesting project.
